“Strategies for Advancing Towards ‘Next K’: Content Industry Forum from 18th to 20th”

(Seoul=Yonhap News) Reporter Hwang Jae-ha: A platform is being established to explore visions for K-content to transcend being a temporary trend and become a new standard leading the paradigm in the global market.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Creative Content Agency announced on the 10th that they will hold the “2025 Content Industry Forum” under the theme “New Challenges for the Content Industry Aiming for Next K” from the 18th to the 20th at the CKL Stage in Jung-gu, Seoul.

The forum will focus on five areas: policy, broadcasting, storytelling, music, and games, discussing both policy and industry-related challenges.

A total of 28 industry experts will participate as presenters or panelists to discuss strengthening the competitiveness of our content on a global scale and planning a new leap forward. Tasks for realizing the major pledge of the new government, “Global Soft Power Big 5” as a cultural powerhouse, will also be proposed.

On the first day, the 18th, at the Policy Forum, Jang Seong-ho, CEO of MoFA Studio, will deliver a keynote speech on the theme “Global Cooperation Cases Aimed at Next K.” Song Jin, head of the Content Policy Research Center at the Korea Creative Content Agency, and Jung Deok-hyun, a popular culture critic, will explore ways to grow the content industry.

On the 19th, the Broadcasting, Storytelling, and Music Forums will be held. In the Broadcasting Forum, representatives such as Hong Seong-chang from StudioS Drama Division and Kim Hee-yeol from Fan Entertainment Drama Division will present growth plans and outlooks for broadcast content.

In the Storytelling Forum, Bae Jeong-hyeon, head of business at SAMG Entertainment, will present. In the Music Forum, Lee Hyun-ki, head of the Music Business Center at SM Entertainment, will also present.

On the 20th, during the Game Forum, Im Chan-koo, Senior Account Director at Sensor Tower, and Lee Min-woo, Director at Krafton, will share strategies and examples for enhancing the global competitiveness of the game industry.

Yoo Hyun-seok, acting head of the Korea Creative Content Agency, stated, “Next K signifies a qualitative leap where K-content becomes the central axis of the global cultural industry,” adding, “We will prepare a strategy for K-content to leap as a pioneer setting new standards in the global content ecosystem, beyond just exports, and suggesting future directions.”
