KT unveiled its ‘KT WiFi 7D’ router at MWC 2025. On the 3rd (local time), at MWC 2025, which opened in Barcelona, Spain, KT became the first Korean telecommunications company to launch a WiFi router supporting the WiFi 7 standard.
This router can handle up to 2.8Gbps of data. It minimizes latency to smoothly support high-load AI-related tasks.
Along with the WiFi generation upgrade, KT improved the design of the router. The previous model featured exposed antennas and frequently blinking LED lights. The new model has been transformed into a simple design with built-in antennas. A company representative emphasized, “The subtly spreading LED light from the bottom intuitively shows the network status and can also be used as a decorative interior object.”
Like its predecessor, it comes with a feature that allows users to change the skin according to their preferences. Plans are underway to broaden the range of options through various limited edition skin designs in the future.
KT set up the internet environment at its MWC 2025 exhibition booth using the KT WiFi 7D. Sales in Korea will begin on the 4th.
Hee-Geun Kwon, head of KT’s Marketing Innovation Division, said, “We are thrilled to be the first among the three major telecom companies to present a WiFi 7 router on the global stage of MWC 2025. The KT WiFi 7D, which combines overwhelming speed with a sleek design, is expected to provide customers with the best internet environment in the AI era that requires fast data processing.”
