“Sales exceed 1.3 billion won in a month… More than 50,000 visitors in total”
(Seoul=Yonhap News) By Jun Sung-hoon = Hyundai Department Store announced on the 12th that the sales of the ‘The Hyundai Global’ pop-up store opened at the Parco Department Store Shibuya in Tokyo, Japan, on the 10th of last month exceeded 1.3 billion won in just one month.
This exceeded the initial goal by more than 50%, and Hyundai Department Store introduced it as the highest record among Parco Department Store pop-up stores in terms of sales.
According to Hyundai Department Store, on the opening day, the customer waiting line to visit the pop-up store on the 3rd floor of the department store extended to the basement 1st floor, showing a strong response.
On the day the domestic designer brand Madung Kim store opened on the 24th of last month, more than 3,000 customers flocked in, making it the most visited domestic fashion pop-up store in Japan. The cumulative number of visitors so far is more than 50,000.
Hyundai Department Store analyzed that the synergy effect was achieved by combining the know-how of operating pop-up stores with various experiential content and the K-content craze in Japan.

Hyundai Department Store conveyed, “The increase in brand awareness of Hyundai Department Store in Japan, as well as proving the success potential of K-fashion brands, is significant.”
‘The Hyundai Global’ is a K-content export platform introduced by Hyundai Department Store, where Korean domestic brands with competitiveness are presented at famous retail stores overseas.
Hyundai Department Store directly handles all export-related matters including customs clearance and store operation negotiations with overseas retailers, making it easier for brands to attempt overseas market entry.
‘The Hyundai Global’ will be operated until the 28th of next month. Introducing various K-fashion brands to Japanese consumers, a new brand will be showcased every week.
Noi’s, Mariette Françoise & Xavier, Madung Kim were introduced sequentially, and in the future, Pote’s Ports, Everline, The Barnet, etc., are scheduled to meet local consumers. From the 15th of next month, the store of the popular tvN drama ‘Sunjae’s Spring’ in Japan will be operated.
A Hyundai Department Store official stated, “The ‘The Hyundai Global’ has received more attention than expected in Japan, and it is expected that the sales at the end of the event will reach 4 billion won,” and said, “We will successfully operate the K-content specialty store in Thailand in the future and become a true global platform.”
