If you need assistance, call ‘120’… Seoul City operates a dedicated call center.

Starting next month, ‘Safe Care 120’ will be launched, offering services ranging from care consultations to connecting with service institutions.

(Seoul=Yonhap News) Reporter Jeong Su-yeon: Starting in November, Seoul City will begin trial operations of a specialized care call center named ‘Safe Care 120.’ This center will guide citizens in need of care to customized services, as announced on the 30th.

Elderly or disabled individuals in need of care, or their acquaintances, can call the Dasan Call Center (☎ 02-120) and follow the instructions to press 3 (Safe Care) to receive a consultation.

Five professionals specialized in social welfare will consider the severity of the situation and inform the callers about various services provided by the government, local administrations, and other institutions.

Moreover, elderly individuals who have difficulties accessing care services due to conditions like immobility, severe dementia, or large body size will be connected to a certified Seoul-type quality care institution. Severely disabled individuals will be linked to relevant professional support activity organizations.

Consultations will also be provided for care workers. If legal protection is needed, such as addressing work-related grievances, the service will connect them to legal consultations offered by the Seoul Welfare Foundation.

Safe Care 120 will be operational from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM on weekdays. A KakaoTalk consultation channel is also set to launch in November.

After a trial period, full-scale operations are expected to begin next year.

Seoul Welfare Director Jung Sang-hoon stated, “We will guide various care services to ensure that citizens in need of care do not fall into blind spots due to lack of information or the complexity of application processes.”
