, “(Seoul=News1) Reporter Na Yeon-jun states that the Ministry of Science and ICT announced on the 22nd its plan to hold the ‘APEC Young Chemists’ Forum’ to foster international collaboration among researchers during the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) meeting in 2025.”

The forum, held from the 23rd to the 25th at the Suwon Convention Center, is an event linked to the spring academic conference hosted by the Korean Chemical Society alongside APEC. It will bring together speakers from 13 APEC member countries, including Korea, the United States, Japan, Australia, Canada, China, and Singapore, and more than 3,000 scientists from home and abroad.

With the theme “Embracing the Digital Transformation Era in Chemistry,” discussions will cover various topics, such as sustainable chemical synthesis, the digital transition in energy research, AI-based regenerative and next-generation materials, and the application of AI in next-generation sensors and biotechnology.

In particular, the panel session on establishing an APEC digital transformation research network and expanding international joint research will feature Hwan-il Park, the Vice Chair of the APEC Policy Partnership on Science, Technology and Innovation (PPSTI), as he seeks ongoing collaboration with APEC.

Hwang Sung-hoon, Director of International Cooperation at the Ministry of Science and ICT, said, “We will continue to actively support creating digital research infrastructure and expanding opportunities for international exchange, so young researchers can thrive on the global stage.”
