Shinsegae Department Store’s ‘Beyond Shinsegae’ attracts 5.3 million visitors in 100 days… Sports are ‘popular’

(Seoul = Yonhap News) Reporter Cho Min-jeong: Shinsegae Department Store announced on the 18th that its new in-house e-commerce platform ‘Beyond Shinsegae,’ which launched in August, surpassed 5.3 million cumulative visitors within 100 days of opening, garnering significant attention.

Unlike traditional department store apps that only curated displays of products, Beyond Shinsegae enhances convenience by allowing users to purchase products directly through the app.

According to analysis by Shinsegae Department Store, the average daily visitor count is between 50,000 to 60,000, with many users accessing the app outside regular department store business hours.

From October 31 until the end of the year, there is a promotion that recognizes 100% of purchase payments on Beyond Shinsegae as VIP performance at the department store. As a result, sales from November 1 to 11 surged by more than 80% compared to the same period in the previous month.

This suggests high usage of Beyond Shinsegae by highly loyal customers.

Shinsegae Department Store is running a ‘Sports Week’ event where they offer up to 70% discounts on overstocked products from popular sports brands until the 23rd.

The sports category is one that Shinsegae Department Store has focused on considerably, accounting for 50% of Beyond Shinsegae’s total sales.

During this Sports Week, in addition to popular sports brands like Nike and Adidas, outdoor brands such as K2 and Black Yak are also offering discounted products.

There is also a ‘Kids Week’ event from the 24th to the 30th.

Additionally, an ‘Early Beyond Friday’ event is being held, offering a 12% discount coupon for use in fashion, sports, outdoor, and children’s categories, and a 20% coupon for December if you attend more than 7 days within this month.
