20% of Accepted Students “Admitted with Only Seoul Learn”… Plans to Expand Nationwide
(Seoul = News1) Reporter Kwon Hye-jung reports that “Seoul Learn,” a representative educational bridge in Seoul, has achieved significant results in the 2025 college entrance exams. The city of Seoul announced on the 25th that out of 1,154 members of Seoul Learn who took the College Scholastic Ability Test this year, 67.8% (782 individuals) were accepted into universities, marking an increase of 100 successful applicants compared to the previous year.
According to the analysis of the number of college admissions for the 2025 academic year and the participation and satisfaction of Seoul Learn, it was found that the number of university acceptances among high school seniors and above increased by 100 members to 782 compared to last year.
Among them, 173 individuals were admitted to 11 major universities in Seoul, as well as in specialized fields such as medicine, pharmacy, education, and military academies, marking an increase of 41.8% compared to the previous year. Seoul Learn produced the following results this year: 19 admissions to Seoul National University (up from 12 in 2024), 12 to Korea University (the same as 2024), 14 to Yonsei University (up from 10 in 2024), and 18 to medical and pharmacy programs (up from 9 in 2024).
The average study time for successful applicants of Seoul Learn was 11,258 minutes (approximately 188 hours), while the study time for those admitted to the 11 major universities and medical/pharmacy programs was 17,089 minutes (approximately 285 hours). Not only did more time spent using Seoul Learn correlate with higher success rates in college admissions, but accepted students also had an average of 127 accesses to Seoul Learn, compared to an average of 174 accesses by entrants to the 11 universities.
Notably, among students with academic enthusiasm, 70.8% (46 out of 65 applicants) of those in the “Seoul Learn Intensive Support Group” passed into universities. This group is a focused study program that expands offerings such as textbooks and advanced mentoring based on academic enthusiasm, with 16 (34.8%) of its successful applicants admitted to 11 major universities and specialized programs in Seoul.
Survey results showed that Seoul Learn accounted for 60.3% of the influence on the educational services utilized by successful applicants in their college preparations, a significantly higher rate than general private education (16.9%). Additionally, 158 successful applicants (20%) stated they gained university admission using only Seoul Learn, without any other private education.
Regarding overall satisfaction with Seoul Learn, 95% of the entrance exam respondents said that Seoul Learn was helpful in their preparations, and 98% would recommend it to younger peers.
Entering its fourth year, “Seoul Learn” plans to expand its education target and scope, enhancing services starting this year.
They are increasing AI-based practical content for high school and college students. In collaboration with Fast Campus, a variety of 1,000 extracurricular courses including programming, data science, generative AI, and prompt engineering will be provided to support job seekers and new professionals in strengthening their practical skills.
A new “AI-based Learning Problem-Solving App” service will also be introduced, allowing students to easily ask and receive real-time answers to questions or problems they encounter during learning. The scholarship program to boost student motivation and achievement will be enhanced as well.
Meanwhile, follow-up research conducted on students and parents who responded to Seoul Learn achievement surveys in 2023 and 2024 showed effectiveness in improving grades and reducing private education costs.
Seoul Learn users’ academic improvement score increased by 0.72 points to 3.99 on a 5-point scale compared to the previous year. The percentage of households reporting decreased private education expenses rose from 42.1% to 52.4%, with the “monthly average private education savings amount” increasing by 91,000 won from 256,000 won to 347,000 won.
Based on these achievements, Seoul City plans to expand Seoul Learn nationwide to bridge educational gaps. So far, agreements have been made with three local governments to support the education of underprivileged students, and efforts will continue to broaden cooperation this year.
