Gwangju City has announced that the number of local government employees to be recruited in 2025 will be 210, doubling the 105 recruits from last year. The recruitment increase considers the administrative demands of preparing for events like the 2025 Gwangju World Archery Championships, developing a public transport and pedestrian-friendly city, and the second phase construction of the Gwangju Metro Line 2.
Recruitment exams will be held twice, with 195 positions including 9th-grade roles and researchers in the first half of the year and 15 positions including 7th-grade roles in the latter half. The recruitment includes 101 administrative positions, 93 technical positions, and 16 research and guidance positions. Specifically, there will be 10 positions for 7th grade and 184 for 9th grade, among others.
Roles include 62 administrative positions, 18 industrial roles, 4 in agriculture, 2 in healthcare, and various others in fields such as social welfare, environmental management, and research. To enhance diversity, separate recruitment is set for 8 disabled individuals, 5 from low-income backgrounds, and 3 high school graduates in technical fields.
Additional support will be provided for disabled individuals and pregnant applicants, such as separate exam rooms and enlarged test papers. From this year, changes like an extended exam time and revised qualification requirements for specific fields are introduced.
Applications for the first half exams can be submitted from March 24 to 28, and for the second half from July 21 to 25 through the local government Internet application center. Written exams are scheduled for June 21 and November 1, with final results to be announced in August and December.
