Trump: “Foreign companies investing in the U.S. should bring skilled professionals to train Americans.”

Donald Trump, the President of the United States, expressed his desire for foreign companies operating in the U.S. to bring in skilled professionals to train Americans.

On September 14, in a post on his social media platform, Truth Social, President Trump stated that when foreign companies producing complex products and machinery enter the U.S. through massive investments, he hopes these companies will bring in their own skilled professionals for a certain period to teach and train Americans on how to manufacture unique and complex products.

President Trump added that without this approach, such significant investments would not happen in the first place.

He noted that there are many products for which America still needs to learn or relearn manufacturing techniques from other countries, citing examples such as chips and semiconductors, computers, ships, and trains.

President Trump explained that although the U.S. excelled in these areas in the past, it is no longer the case, and thus such an approach is necessary. For example, he mentioned that in the past, the U.S. could build one ship per day in the shipbuilding industry, but now it struggles to build even one properly per year.

Furthermore, President Trump emphasized that he does not want to discourage or hinder foreign or corporate investment in the U.S. He stated that the U.S. welcomes foreign companies and their employees, and with pride, he expressed that the U.S. will learn from them and eventually achieve better outcomes than them in the near future.

It is interpreted that President Trump’s comments were in response to concerns that foreign investment in the U.S. could shrink following an incident where a group of Korean skilled workers, involved in building a battery factory in Georgia, was detained by immigration authorities and subsequently voluntarily left the country.
