Korean Body Found in Large Bag in Vietnam… Two Arrested

A South Korean was found dead in a residential area in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The body was discovered inside a large bag, and local police have detained two South Korean suspects for investigation.

This is a high-rise building in a residential area of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

Around 4 p.m. local time on the 23rd, two men exited the building carrying a large bag.

Security staff found the bag’s odor suspicious and reported it to the police. As two passersby tried to stop the men, they fled in a taxi.

Inside the abandoned bag was the body of a man in his 20s, identified as a South Korean.

Police have detained two South Koreans suspected of involvement and are conducting an investigation.

The incident occurred in an area known for its upscale apartment complexes, where many Koreans reside.

The area is also known to have several short-term rental accommodations frequently used by tourists and temporary residents.

Local media reported that the suspects seemed to have stayed in a short-term rental apartment.

The consulate has also indicated they plan to investigate whether this incident is linked to a recent surge in online fraud rings in Southeast Asia.

Last month, a South Korean woman in her 30s was found dead near a border checkpoint with Cambodia in Vietnam.
