Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi announced that she had a phone conversation with U.S. President Donald Trump.
Speaking with reporters at the Prime Minister’s Office, Prime Minister Takaichi said that during her phone call with President Trump, she discussed the evaluation of U.S. actions regarding the peace plan for Ukraine.
She also explained that they exchanged views on the evaluation of the U.S.-Japan alliance and various challenges facing the Indo-Pacific region.
Additionally, she reported that President Trump provided an explanation of the recent U.S.-China relations, including the summit that took place yesterday.
Prime Minister Takaichi mentioned that President Trump asked questions about the G20 summit she attended, and she provided answers.
She emphasized that amid the current international situation, they confirmed the close ties between the U.S. and Japan, following President Trump’s previous visit to Japan.
Prime Minister Takaichi added that, as she is a close friend of President Trump, she expressed her willingness to have phone discussions anytime. However, she refrained from mentioning specific details of the meeting, citing the diplomatic nature of the conversation.
