At the 2023 7th Samsung AI Forum. News1, [Financial News] Samsung Electronics and SK Group are hosting a company-wide AI event on the 4th and 5th, inviting global AI scholars and entrepreneurs. SK Chairman Chey Tae-won will deliver a keynote speech, and Samsung Electronics’ Vice Chairman Han Jong-hee, who also heads the Device eXperience (DX) division, along with other management, will present their AI vision through topic presentations.
According to industry sources, Samsung Electronics will privately host the 8th Samsung AI Forum at the Suwon Convention Center in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province, on the 4th and at the R&D campus in Seocho-gu, Seoul, on the 5th. Renowned scholars and experts in the fields of AI and computer engineering (CE) are invited to this event.
Organized by Samsung Electronics SAIT (formerly Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology), the Samsung AI Forum, which began in 2017, serves as a platform for experts to share the latest AI research trends and explore future innovation strategies. This year’s event will be attended by a large number of AI scholars, domestic researchers, Samsung Electronics and major affiliate AI heads.
Yoshua Bengio, a professor at the University of Montreal, Canada, who participated online in the 2022 and 2023 forums, will take the stage as a keynote speaker. Bengio is regarded as one of the top three scholars in the field of deep learning.
Jan LeCun, chief AI scientist at Meta and a professor at New York University, Ian Horrocks, a renowned professor in the field of knowledge graph from Oxford University, and Munther Dahleh from MIT will also give keynote speeches.
Vice Chairman Han Jong-hee, Song Jae-hyuk, CTO of the Device Solutions (DS, semiconductor) division, Kim Dae-hyun, head of the Samsung Research Global AI Center, and Choi Chang-kyu, SAIT AI Research Center director, will give welcome speeches and topic presentations.
The ‘SK AI Summit 2024’ will take place at COEX in Gangnam-gu, Seoul. SK Group, which has held an annual event, has expanded it this year into a large-scale global event.
SK Chairman Chey Tae-won will deliver a keynote speech on the AI ecosystem. Yoo Young-sang, president of SK Telecom, and Kwak No-jung, president of SK Hynix, will host an ‘AI Unpack’ showcase unveiling AI strategies and product development progress.
Additionally, notable figures such as Greg Brockman, chairman and president of OpenAI, the developer of ChatGPT, and Rani Borkar, Corporate Vice President at Microsoft (MS), as well as representatives from key companies like AMD, Arm, and Lambda, will be present.
