Majorie Janiewicz, the Global Head of Revenue for Mistral AI, discussed the collaboration with Qualcomm via video at the ‘Snapdragon Summit 2024.’ Qualcomm is partnering with the French generative AI startup Mistral AI to integrate generative AI capabilities. Mistral’s new models will be implemented on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite mobile platform and automotive platforms.
On the 23rd (local time) during the ‘Snapdragon Summit 2024’ held in Maui, Hawaii, Qualcomm announced their collaboration with Mistral AI. Durga Malladi, Qualcomm’s Senior Vice President and General Manager of Technology, Planning, and Edge Solutions, stated that the collaboration will contribute to Qualcomm’s goal of enhancing edge devices with the latest AI technology. He mentioned that through Mistral AI’s Mistral 3B and Mistral 8B, device manufacturers, software, and digital service providers will offer innovative experiences like AI assistants based on on-device AI capabilities.
This collaboration enables the implementation of Mistral AI’s latest generative AI models on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite mobile platform, Snapdragon Cockpit Elite, Snapdragon Ride Elite automotive platforms, and AI PC Snapdragon X series.
Mistral AI’s cutting-edge generative AI models, Mistral 3B and Mistral 8B, will be implemented in edge devices based on Qualcomm’s platforms. Mistral 3B is the first commercial AI model from Mistral AI designed for ‘on-device AI.’
Both companies plan to offer Mistral 3B and Mistral 8B soon through the ‘Qualcomm AI Hub.’
