OpenAI “To Launch AI Job Platform and Certification Program Next Year”

“AI connects job seekers with companies and government agencies… AI Skills Certification,” OpenAI, the developer of ChatGPT, plans to launch an AI-based job platform next year to connect job seekers proficient in AI technology with companies and government agencies. They also intend to introduce a program to certify AI skills within a few months.

According to Bloomberg News, OpenAI revealed this plan during a meeting hosted by First Lady Melania Trump on “AI and Education” at the White House on the 4th (local time).

The job platform envisioned by OpenAI aims to use AI to connect local governments and companies of various sizes with suitable talent. This service could create competition with companies like LinkedIn, owned by Microsoft’s largest investor OpenAI.

OpenAI’s application division CEO, Fygji Simo, explained, “It’s not just a simple job posting. We are designing a system where applicants can prove their skills with certification, and AI matches them with companies based on this.”

The AI job certification program is designed to educate workers on better utilizing AI in their roles. OpenAI plans to offer certification to 10 million Americans by 2030.

OpenAI is pushing this initiative in collaboration with several organizations, including Walmart, the largest private employer in the U.S., and is currently working out the details of the certification program with Walmart.

Initially, the certification program will be offered for free to around 1.6 million Walmart employees in the U.S., but Bloomberg News reported that it could be offered as a paid service to other companies in the future.
