KakaoTalk is expected to integrate ChatGPT… Could it be unveiled at the conference on the 23rd?

OpenAI and Kakao collaboration expected to take shape: OpenAI’s generative AI, ChatGPT, is expected to be integrated into the popular messaging app KakaoTalk. According to the IT industry on the 4th, Kakao is considering directly linking ChatGPT with its messenger app KakaoTalk. Previously, users needed to install and switch between two separate apps, but soon they will be able to chat with ChatGPT by pressing a specific button within KakaoTalk.

Last month, Kakao’s CEO Jeong Jin-ah hinted at this direction during the company’s Q2 earnings call, stating that users might share ChatGPT search results during chats with friends or encounter ChatGPT on the platform’s main interface, which is accessed dozens of times a day.

Kakao plans to unveil this new feature at the ‘if(kakao)2025’ developer conference on the 23rd. A Kakao representative mentioned that the outline of the KakaoTalk and ChatGPT integration will be revealed, and further details on the implementation are expected to be disclosed at the Q3 earnings call.
