Neowiz’s operating profit in the second quarter soared by 292%… the DLC effect of ‘Lies of P’ is evident.

[Digital Daily Reporter Lee Hak-bom] Thanks to the success of the ‘Lies of P’ DLC (Downloadable Content), NeoWiz tripled its operating profit in the second quarter. Both revenue and net income also recorded double-digit growth, marking a rebound in performance.

NeoWiz announced on the 8th that its operating profit for the second quarter of 2025 increased by 292% compared to the same period last year, reaching 18.6 billion won. Revenue and net income were 110 billion won and 12.8 billion won, respectively, representing increases of 26% and 66% year-on-year.

Looking at the breakdown of sales, PC and console game sales rose by 54% compared to the same period last year, reaching 57.5 billion won. ‘Lies of P’ was originally released in 2023 and is an action RPG. In June this year, the DLC ‘Lies of P: Overture’ was launched. Since the release of the DLC, the combined cumulative sales of the main game and DLC exceeded 3 million units.

NeoWiz explained, “The consecutive success of the main game Lies of P and its DLC, Lies of P: Overture, was pivotal,” adding, “New user influx from the DLC release led to increased sales of the main game.”

Furthermore, “DJMax Respect V also supported the performance through positive reception for the Blue Archive collaboration DLC and the new DLC V Liberty 3.”

Sales in the mobile game sector increased by 9% year-on-year to 44 billion won. Celebrating its second anniversary, ‘BrownDust2’ achieved a daily active user count (DAU) of about 280,000, the highest ever, successfully turning around and driving sales through its success in major app markets in Taiwan and Hong Kong, reaching the top of sales charts.

In the second half of the year, NeoWiz plans to enhance its key IP values and diversify its touchpoints with users. Lies of P will be featured as the PlayStation Plus free game of the month in August to reach more users. Under its subsidiary, Round8 Studio, development efforts for new PC and console titles will be intensified. DJMax Respect V plans to strengthen its IP by expanding its musical scope, for instance, by holding the ‘DJMax Miracle 2025’ offline concert this August.

BrownDust2 will continue to communicate with its fandom by participating in events such as ‘Illustration Festival’ in Busan, ‘Comic Market’ in Japan, and ‘Anime NYC’ in New York. Upcoming summer event and the 2.5-year anniversary update in December are planned, along with the release of the Steam PC version.

Leveraging its publishing capabilities, NeoWiz is also targeting the global market with leading indie games. The company has lined up three games, ‘Shape of Dreams’, ‘Hello Seoul: Itaewon Episode’, and ‘Kill the Shadow’, for release in the second half of the year. They participated in Japan’s ‘BitSummit’ and China’s ‘G Fusion Game Fest 2025’ and ‘Core Blazers Game Fest 2025’. In August, NeoWiz plans to lay the groundwork for global success by participating in ‘Gamescom’ in Germany.
