Ministry of Science and ICT, launches ‘Digital Society Initiative’ with OECD

The Ministry of Science and ICT announced that the ‘Digital Society Initiative: towards a digital society for shared prosperity,’ a joint project between South Korea and the OECD, will officially launch on the 20th. The initiative, led by South Korea, aims to establish a permanent cooperation network for digital norms among OECD member countries to explore future directions for global AI, digital norms, and governance discussions. Participating countries will diagnose the societal impact of digital transformation based on the digital readiness assessment conducted by the Ministry of Science and ICT, and plan to share digital transformation policies and practices regularly. The initiative will also host working group meetings and senior official meetings in the near future to promote international cooperation in the field of digital governance.
