Kakao Entertainment has announced that a lineup of new webtoons by popular artists such as Jang Yi, Noh Kyung-chan, Yongyong, and Koogi will be unveiled. The company stated on the 23rd that it will reveal these new works during the “2025 Lunar New Year Special Webtoon Relay Event” over 11 days until February 1 on Kakao Webtoon.
The line-up consists of works by authors who have previously achieved significant success both domestically and internationally. It includes eight new works spanning various genres such as sports, thriller, martial arts, and mecha, as well as returning season works and three major new releases from the year-end and New Year period, totaling 11 works.
One of the highly anticipated releases is the sports drama “Rhythm & Baseball” by Jang Yi, known for “The Uncanny Counter.” It tells the lively and emotional story of two rival professional baseball players who, after being released from their respective teams, aim to reenter the professional league—a goal everyone says is impossible.
“Black Haze,” which is set to be remade with enhanced artwork and direction after 13 years, is another highlight. The work of Yongyong, known for “Charlotte Has Five Disciples,” which has garnered 8.5 billion views globally, focuses on a top-class magician who hides his identity to protect a boy associated with a magic school known as “Monsters.”
Noh Kyung-chan’s new work, “Red Storm – The Return of the King,” follows after “Avimosang” and “Gwanjon Igangjin,” extending his martial arts world. It narrates the epic journey of a boy who, after saving the blood-soaked Red Desert from war, now seeks to save the world.
The zombie thriller “Welcome to Undead Park” is set in an American theme park where an unknown zombie virus outbreak has isolated people who must fight for their survival. This is Kakao Webtoon’s debut work for Koogi, who previously attained global sales of one million copies and a widespread international fanbase with “Killing Stalking.”
Other works also receiving positive feedback include “Flower of Titan,” a mecha action series by Kim Jong-hoon, and Dee Dee’s “Kimya V-log.”
