Gangnam District to Participate in ‘World IT Show 2025’… “Promoting the Smart City Model”

Gangnam-gu, Seoul announced on the 23rd that it will participate in the ‘World IT Show (WIS 2025)’, the largest domestic information and communication technology (ICT) exhibition, to be held at COEX in Samseong-dong from the 24th to the 26th.

Hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and co-organized by six organizations including the Korea International Trade Association, the World IT Show will feature ICT companies, public institutions, and organizations from 17 countries. Under the slogan of ‘Digital Transformation with AI, Leading the Future with Science and Technology,’ it will showcase the latest technologies and products in various fields such as ICT convergence, digital twin and metaverse, smart living and healthcare, and robotics.

Gangnam-gu plans to create a ‘Gangnam Pavilion’ in collaboration with five promising companies participating in smart city pilot and testbed projects, to introduce public-private partnership smart city models in AI, the Internet of Things (IoT), robotics, and data-driven administration.

The participating companies are: DATS, which provides flood and inundation monitoring and prediction services; Net Korea, operating a real-time safety management system utilizing IoT sensors; Shaple & Company, possessing digital management technology for enhanced security; Seo Robotics, developing patrol robots that detect fire and gas; and Eden TNS, operating an administrative and civil affairs automation system (RPA).

Gangnam-gu will support the operation and promotion of the exhibition hall and encourage companies to participate in the ‘Mingling Zone’ to help facilitate business cooperation and market expansion with domestic and international buyers.

Gangnam District Mayor Cho Sung-myung stated, “Through this exhibition, we aim to widely promote Gangnam-gu’s status as a representative sustainable smart city model of Korea.”
