The People Power Party has announced that it will organize a fundraising campaign at the party level to aid in the recovery efforts of the Jeju Air passenger accident.
Kwon Young-se, the emergency measures committee chairman, stated that they will carefully ensure rapid accident management and sufficient support for the bereaved families during the emergency committee meeting.
Kwon Seong-dong, the floor leader, emphasized that they will cooperate with the government to ensure prompt support and mentioned that if necessary, they will consider proposing a special law in the National Assembly and conducting a state investigation.
Additionally, regarding the “fake news” spreading in some quarters that defames the bereaved families, he stressed that it is a criminal act that adds to the pain of those who have lost loved ones, and urged relevant authorities to conduct swift investigations and impose strict punishments.
