The People Power Party states, “Kim Moon-soo will overtake Lee Jae-myung before the early voting… Expecting a golden cross.”

On the 23rd, Yoon Jae-ok, the head of the General Election Countermeasure Headquarters for the People Power Party, expressed confidence in a ‘golden cross’ where the People’s Power Party’s presidential candidate Kim Moon-soo’s support rates will surpass those of Lee Jae-myung, the Democratic Party candidate, before early voting starts. In a press briefing held at the party’s headquarters in Yeouido, Yoon stated that their campaign efforts have been successful in significantly reducing the initial gap in support rates, laying a foundation for potentially overturning the election dynamics.

When asked whether the prospect of a ‘golden cross’ before early voting is contingent on unification with reform candidate Lee Jun-seok, Yoon emphasized the importance of independently boosting Kim’s support rates rather than solely focusing on unification. He expressed that closing the gap with Lee Jae-myung and integrating support with Lee Jun-seok would create favorable conditions for unity negotiations.

Yoon also highlighted rapid consolidation in regions like Daegu, Gyeongbuk, Busan, and Gyeongnam, with increasing momentum in Seoul, the Chungcheong region, and Gangwon. He described the national uptrend as the beginning of a meaningful rebound in the middle of the election.

He stressed the goal of reversing the current standings through continued rallying of the support base and expansion into the moderates. Regarding strategies to appeal to moderate voters, he mentioned that candidate Kim would focus on policies supporting the underprivileged and engage in more interactions with them during campaigns to gain moderate support.
