The new leader of the People Power Party is Jang Dong-hyuk: “I will dedicate everything to oust Lee.”

Jang Dong-hyuk, a member of the National Assembly representing Boryeong-Seocheon in South Chungcheong and a member of the anti-impeachment faction, has been elected as the new leader of the People Power Party. He has emphasized strengthening the party’s opposition against the ruling party. In the runoff vote at the party convention, Jang received 185,401 votes from party members and 34,901 votes from public opinion polls, totaling 220,301 votes, securing his position as the party leader. His opponent, Kim Moon-soo, received 165,189 votes from party members and 52,746 votes from public opinion polls.

In his acceptance speech, Jang stated, “Just as in this party convention, I will continue to march forward unwaveringly as long as it is the right path.” He further pledged to unite with all right-wing citizens to overthrow the Lee Jae-myung administration, dedicating himself fully to the cause.

Additionally, Jang promised to create a People Power Party where the party members are the leaders. He stated, “I will protect all the party members who have stood by me until the end.”
