The Democratic Party’s Public Communication Committee (Fake News Monitoring Group) announced today (22nd) that they reported a video posted on Korean history lecturer Jeon Han-gil’s YouTube channel for violating YouTube’s community guidelines.

The Democratic Party stated, “Jeon Han-gil raised the possibility of manipulation in the electronic vote counting method of the Central Election Commission,” adding that “Mr. Jeon claimed that entering a specific code could lead to manipulation with malicious intent.”

They further explained, “These claims are clearly not true, and the Election Commission has already clarified multiple times through press releases that there is no possibility of manipulation in the electronic counting method. Content that spreads misinformation about election integrity or confuses the public with incorrect information violates YouTube’s policies.”

In response, the media special committee of the People Power Party issued a statement saying, “This is absurd,” and protested, “Are they going to silence even a history lecturer after the KakaoTalk martial law and suppression of opinion polls?”
