Lawmakers from the ruling People’s Power Party who support President Yoon Suk-yeol staged a 24-hour relay protest in front of the Constitutional Court, asserting the dismissal of impeachment proceedings.

While the party leadership has stated that it will not pressure the Constitutional Court through outside protests or hunger strikes, the actions of these lawmakers have been described as “individual decisions.”

In front of the Constitutional Court, where supporters opposing the impeachment of President Yoon Suk-yeol are protesting, People’s Power Party lawmakers Yoon Sang-hyun and Kang Seung-kyu were spotted sitting together holding signs that read “Dismiss Impeachment.”

Centered around the pro-Yoon lawmakers, they have embarked on a 24-hour relay protest.

“I believe dismissal is the only way to realign the nation’s system and return abnormal situations to normal.”

Lawmaker Yoon Sang-hyun further suggested dissolving the National Assembly, which is not even stipulated by law, to prevent what he called the tyranny of the Democratic Party.

Cho Bae-sook, another party lawmaker, facilitated a press conference by a conservative group threatening to file complaints against Constitutional Court justices Moon Hyung-bae, Lee Mi-sun, Jung Ki-sun, and Jung Jung-mi.

“We have decided not to engage in actions that pressure the Constitutional Court through external protests or hunger strikes like the Democratic Party.”

Although their words suggest they will patiently wait for the court’s decision, the party leadership has previously made multiple visits to the Constitutional Court to protest.

Furthermore, the ruling party leadership is essentially tolerating individual lawmakers’ protests at the court, describing it as “individual judgment.”
