Park Chan-dae: “The Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials and the police should not back down and must arrest Yoon today.”

Park Chan-dae, the floor leader of the Democratic Party, urged the Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials and the police to “ensure the arrest of Yoon Seok-yeol for being the ringleader of a rebellion without stepping back,” on the 15th.

After an emergency general assembly meeting at the National Assembly, Park told reporters that a swift arrest is “the shortcut to restoring national dignity and normalizing the state.”

He emphasized, “Yoon Seok-yeol has trampled on the constitution and laws, declared martial law, and yet refused to comply with legitimate law enforcement, turning South Korea into a lawless realm. His persistently evasive and cowardly behavior is deeply disappointing and deplorable.”

He added, “Do not make the security personnel perpetrators; come out willingly and comply with the arrest.” Addressing Choi Sang-mok, Acting President and Deputy Prime Minister for Economy and Minister of Economy and Finance, Park warned, “If any unfortunate incident occurs today, all responsibility lies with Acting President Choi, not with the security team,” implying that Choi did not exercise authority over the presidential security service.
