Meanwhile, in Seoul, it was reported that President Yoon Suk-yeol expressed his intention to comply with the second arrest warrant execution by the Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials and the police. Kwon Young-jin mentioned after meeting the President at his residence in Hannam-dong that the President said, “If the police and the Corruption Investigation Office clash with the youths, it could lead to bloodshed. Although the warrant is illegal and unjust, I feel I have no choice but to comply.”
Kwon noted that the President looked extremely tired, possibly due to lack of sleep, and mentioned that he might be coming down after being arrested from above. Earlier that morning, Kwon, along with lawmakers Yoon Sang-hyun, Lee Sang-hwi, and Park Chung-kwon, visited the residence. Kwon explained that about 20 lawmakers went inside to greet the President, anticipating his arrest.
