Park Chan-dae: “President Yoon, instead of reflecting, is inciting rebellion… I hope the Corruption Investigation Office arrests him today.”

Choi does towards invoking Ma Eun-hyeok’s appointment and special investigation demands for riot activities.

On January 2nd, Park Chan-dae, the floor leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, urged authorities to immediately arrest Yoon Suk-yeol, describing him as the mastermind behind the rebellion. Despite a month having passed since the rebellion, Park criticized Yoon for continuing to incite the uprising rather than taking responsibility.

During a policy coordination meeting at the National Assembly, Park emphasized the need to suppress the rebellion swiftly to prevent escalating chaos and the intensification of Korea’s crisis. He criticized certain government officials and presidential security for prioritizing loyalty to the alleged rebellion leader.

Park also accused the People Power Party of openly opposing impeachment, defending the rebellion leader, and dismissing the seriousness of the situation while contradicting the bipartisan agreement to establish a special committee for an inquiry into the state affairs due to the rebellion.

Park proposed three measures: executing the arrest warrant for President Yoon Suk-yeol, immediately appointing Ma Eun-hyeok as a constitutional court justice nominee, and requesting the nomination for a permanent special prosecutor for the rebellion.

Moreover, he criticized acting President Choi Sang-mok, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Strategy and Finance, for selectively rejecting the appointment of three constitutional judges elected by the National Assembly. He labeled it as a violation of the separation of powers and unconstitutional.

Park urged the acting president to quickly perform actions aligned with the constitution and law, emphasizing that it is the right course to avoid wrongdoing against the public, the country, and history.
