Reform Party leader Lee Jun-seok criticized President Lee Jae-myung for appearing to become a ‘blue Yoon Seok-yeol’ regarding the prosecution’s decision not to appeal the first trial in the Daejang-dong case.
In a top-level party meeting today (10th), Lee stated that former President Yoon began to fall when he started to unreasonably oppress Colonel Park Jeong-hoon, who exposed external pressure on the Private First Class Chae case investigation. He argued that President Lee would face the same end if he prevents frontline prosecutors from appealing.
Lee continued, saying that the prosecution likely intended to identify who was leading in Seongnam’s top positions during the appeal process, but the administration did not allow for that possibility. He said this makes it seem like there was a promise to quickly conclude the trial for the Daejang-dong group and pardon them.
He also urged Acting Prosecutor General No Man-seok to resign immediately, saying it would be disappointing if he tries to keep his position despite such dishonorable actions.
