[Herald Economy = Joo So-hyun reporter] On the 24th, Jeong Cheong-rae, the leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, strongly criticized, saying, “Watching Yoon Seok-yeol, who has zero decency in excuses and avoiding responsibility, if there are still those chanting ‘Yun Again,’ then Yoon Seok-yeol and those chanting ‘Yun Again’ are all lacking,” and described them as “petty and cowardly anti-constitutional, anti-democratic malignant entities.”

At the Democratic Party’s Supreme Council meeting held at the National Assembly, Jeong stated, “I cannot contain my anger at the behavior of the People Power Party, which shows no remorse or dignity. Next week will mark the first anniversary of the illegal martial law incident,” he said.

Jeong further commented, “However, our citizens still feel Yoon Seok-yeol’s illegal martial law as ongoing. Suspected forces supporting insurrection are active everywhere. Due to the Ji Kwi-yeon court, which engages in stalling tactics, the trial for Yoon Seok-yeol, the head of the coup, is stagnant, and as a result, no one is held accountable.”

He continued, “None in the People Power Party, who sided with Yoon Seok-yeol’s illegal martial law, are reflecting on their actions. Yet they go out to the streets, grandstanding about restoring people’s livelihoods and upholding the rule of law, which is absurd,” he added. “Whether they are practicing being out on the streets in anticipation of being dissolved as an unconstitutional party, I don’t know, but isn’t it embarrassing to proclaim the restoration of the livelihoods and rule of law they themselves have ruined?”

Jeong emphasized, “The People Power Party has no right to speak of people’s livelihoods or rule of law. Before they try to disrupt and mar the Lee Jae-myung administration’s governance, they should properly apologize for Yoon Seok-yeol’s illegal martial law incident on December 3,” he said. “Those who sided with Yoon Seok-yeol’s illegal martial law should admit their wrongdoings, reflect, and pay the appropriate price for their crimes, which is the rightful course of action,” he added. “This is the duty to our citizens who suffered under Yoon Seok-yeol’s December 3 illegal martial law and the rightful responsibility as a political party.”

Moreover, Jeong stated, “Further deception of the public cannot be allowed,” and “If necessary, we will proceed with the constitutional process to list the People Power Party as a subject of unconstitutional party dissolution. The Democratic Party will decisively clear the remnants of the December 3 illegal martial law rebellion with a zero-tolerance policy and re-establish democracy and constitutional order in this land.”
