“Expected to see Yoon in prison…” “Crazy tyrant” harshly criticized in prison letter

“Cho Kuk, the former leader of the Cho Kuk Innovation Party, who is currently imprisoned on charges of fraudulent college admissions for his children, harshly criticized President Yoon Seok-yeol, calling him a ‘mad tyrant’ for not complying with the arrest warrant.

Chung Chun-saeng, a Cho Kuk Innovation Party lawmaker, shared a letter from Cho that he received from prison on his social media.

In the letter, Cho stated, ‘I couldn’t do anything because I was watching the news about the arrest warrant being executed,’ and ‘I was hoping to meet Yoon at the Seoul Detention Center, but it was canceled.’

He continued to criticize, saying, ‘A mad tyrant who ignores the court’s warrant,’ and ‘Since being the Prosecutor General, he sees himself as above the law, above the nation, and has been acting with arrogance.’

Additionally, Cho predicted, ‘The Constitutional Court will unanimously decide on the dismissal by at least the end of March.’

Cho also added, ‘I requested the investigation team to focus more on the violation of the Constitution rather than the establishment of a ‘revolt crime’ to speed up the process.’

Regarding the Supreme Court’s ruling against him, Cho commented, ‘I still can’t fully accept it, but I must endure. However, witnessing the impeachment has been comforting. I might have legally lost, but I have won politically.’

Cho expressed that ‘due to President Yoon’s coup, the political schedule has changed,’ and mentioned major election schedules post-2025, adding, ‘If a regime change occurs, the timeframe where I can contribute might accelerate.’

These remarks could be interpreted as Cho anticipating a pardon or reinstatement with a regime change.

Cho also shared his current status, saying, ‘I have completed my book writing, which I had been planning before incarceration. Doing full-body stretches three times a day has improved my ability to bend over, and now my palms can fully touch the floor.'”
