Jo Eung-cheon Criticizes Democratic Party’s Double Standards, “Creating a Law Benefiting Lee Jae-myung…”
Jo Eung-cheon voiced criticism, stating that the Democratic Party created a “grace law” for Lee Jae-myung and yet filed a complaint against Kim Yong-tae for pointing out the 120 won coffee cost. He labeled it as a severe case of double standards within the party.
In the limited five-week election period, it was a waste of time for the People Power Party (PPP) to focus on unification with Han Deok-soo and Yoon Seok-yeol’s withdrawal, rather than rallying around Lee Jae-myung’s risk to the nation.
Jo Won-jin, the chairman of the Our Republican Party, suggested that during discussions, issues like the Grain Act and the Yellow Envelope Law should have been highlighted. He warned that their passage could shift the nation toward socialism.
In a broadcast on May 20th, hosted by Su-hyun Seo on YouTube’s ‘Daily News,’ a debate was held with Jo Won-jin and former Reformation Party member Jo Eung-cheon. Jo Won-jin predicted that “Lee Jae-myung’s bulletproof glass will soon be removed,” indicating significant upcoming changes.
Jo Eung-cheon criticized the debate format opposing the point that every candidate should have had the time to thoroughly examine key economic fields and policies. The complaints ranged from Lee Jae-myung’s vague policies on labor and economic laws to contradictory stances from within the Democratic Party, accusing it of focusing more on protecting its candidates rather than addressing concrete national issues.
Seo Su-hyun mentioned the general sentiment surrounding the election campaign, noting a possibly misleading perception created by divergence within and the complicated narrative surrounding national pressing issues and candidates’ approaches to them. Both Jo Eung-cheon and Su-hyun stressed the need for the PPP to consolidate and concentrate efforts to counter such strategic deflections effectively.
