The Vienna Symphony will hold a K-pop concert in Vienna next February.

The prestigious Austrian orchestra, the Vienna Symphony Orchestra, founded in 1900, will present a performance themed around K-pop. SM Entertainment announced on the 16th that through its classical and jazz label, SM Classics, it, along with the Vienna Symphony Orchestra, will host a K-pop orchestra concert titled ‘Vienna Symphony Orchestra X K-pop’ at the Wiener Konzerthaus in Vienna, Austria on February 16th next year.

The ‘Vienna Symphony Orchestra X K-pop’ performance will reinterpret and perform K-pop songs created by SM through orchestral and jazz arrangements. Previously, SM Classics celebrated SM’s 30th anniversary last February by holding a K-pop orchestra concert with the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra.

This project will be part of the special projects included in the Vienna Symphony’s regular concert lineup for the 2025/26 season. An SM representative stated, “This is an unprecedented attempt to transcend genre boundaries as K-pop enters the European classical stage in a standalone concert format,” and added, “This will serve as an opportunity to expand that inspiration on the global stage once again.”
