The ‘2025 Spring Royal Palace Cultural Festival’ will be held from the 26th.

The National Heritage Administration announced today (the 7th) that the ‘2025 Spring Royal Palace Cultural Festival’ will be held for nine days starting on the 26th at the five major palaces in Seoul (Gyeongbokgung, Changdeokgung, Deoksugung, Changgyeonggung, and Gyeonghuigung) and Jongmyo.

The representative program of the cultural festival, ‘Time Travel, Sejong,’ is an experiential complex event that recreates the life and achievements of King Sejong, taking place across Gyeongbokgung from the 26th to the 30th.

There are various programs, such as ‘Royal Newcomers,’ where you can experience various royal court occupations of the Joseon Dynasty, and a nighttime free viewing program based on Sejong’s achievements called ‘Time Travel at Night.’

Participants in ‘Royal Newcomers’ can experience making royal court confectionery, learning royal court dance, and learning royal crafts, thus experiencing the culture of the time.

In ‘Time Travel at Night,’ for the first time in the history of the festival, areas like Hyangwonjeong and Jibokjae in the northern section of Gyeongbokgung will be open as nighttime free viewing zones.

At Gyeongbokgung’s Geunjeongjeon, the ‘Royal Palace Concert – 100 People’s Yeomin-dongnak’ will be held at 7:30 p.m. every evening from May 3rd to 5th.

The concert will feature 100 master musicians of Korean traditional music performing royal court music such as Dae Chwita, Yeominrak, and Chunaengjeon.

Additionally, there are various programs such as ‘Awakening the Morning Palace,’ which allows you to stroll along the forest path of Changdeokgung and feel the morning atmosphere of the old palace, and ‘Queen’s Wardrobe,’ where you can take photographs in hanbok with the backdrop of pavilions like Seongjeonggak.
