Showers are expected in the eastern regions on the 8th, and strong and heavy rain is forecasted over the southern regions during the weekend of the 9th to 10th. Jeju Island will continue to experience rain for the time being.

According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, showers of 5-20mm are expected in the eastern regions of Gangwon-do and Gyeongbuk from morning to evening on the 8th. Rain is currently falling on Jeju Island due to the influence of a stationary front created by the collision of cold, dry air from the north and warm, humid air from the south. Jeju Island is forecasted to receive 5-40mm of rain on this day.

During the weekend of the 9th to 10th, a stationary front and a mid-sized low-pressure system developing along this front are expected to pass through Korea. Rain will start early morning on the 9th in the Jeolla region and Jeju Island, in the morning in other parts of Jeolla and Gyeongsang regions, in the afternoon in Gyeongbuk, and at night in the southern part of Chungcheong. On the 10th, rain will continue in the southern regions and Jeju Island, while most of the rain in the southern Chungcheong region will likely cease by early dawn on the 10th.

The expected precipitation for the 9th to 10th is 5-40mm in Chungcheong, 30-150mm in Jeolla, 30-100mm in Gyeongsang, and 30-100mm in Jeju Island. From the afternoon of the 9th to the afternoon of the 10th, very strong and heavy rain of 30-50mm per hour is expected mainly in the southern regions.”
