The rain has stopped, but is it hot in Seoul now?

[Caster]
Yes, the rain has stopped in Seoul, but the humidity has increased, making it sweltering. The current temperature in Seoul is 28 degrees Celsius, but it feels like 30 degrees. The rain clouds are moving quickly, and the rain in the southern region has weakened.

It is expected that the southern region will experience light rain until night, while heat waves will continue to dominate. Heat wave warnings have been issued for the East Coast, southern regions, and Jeju Island. Please stay hydrated to prevent heat exhaustion.

Now let’s take a closer look at the radar image of the rain situation. Currently, heavy rain is falling around Gyeongbuk, but the heavy rain warning has been lifted as strong rain clouds move quickly out. However, there are still strong rain clouds developing in the West Sea, so please be cautious. Especially, intense rain is forecasted again in central regions overnight.

From tonight to tomorrow morning, heavy rain is expected in central regions, Jeonbuk, and the northern part of Gyeongbuk. Seoul metropolitan area, Gangwon, and northern Chungcheong regions are expected to receive 30-50mm of heavy rain per hour. Please check your drainage systems in advance and avoid walking near rivers or underground passages when heavy rain falls.

Until the day after tomorrow, many areas in the Seoul metropolitan area are expected to receive over 150mm of rain, over 120mm in the western part of Gangwon, and around 100mm in Chungcheong region. Therefore, continued caution is necessary for potential landslides.

While the nationwide landslide alert level is at ‘caution’, ‘landslide warnings’ have been issued in various western areas. Please make sure to know the evacuation routes if you are in a high-risk area.

Tomorrow, most areas nationwide will be mostly cloudy. Rain will come and go until the afternoon in the southern region and Jeju, and until the night in the central region. Heat wave warnings have been issued for the East Coast, southern regions, and Jeju Island, making the weather hot.

Tomorrow morning temperatures are expected to be 24 degrees in Seoul, 27 degrees in Gangneung, and 26 degrees in Gwangju and Daegu, bringing tropical night heat levels to many places.

Midday temperatures are forecasted to be 28 degrees in Seoul, 31 degrees in Gangneung, and 33 degrees in Daegu, similar to today, making it hot.

Monday, the day after tomorrow, is expected to bring rain mainly in central regions, followed by long-lasting rain in the Seoul metropolitan area and western regions.

From tonight to tomorrow, strong winds of around 15m/s will blow across most areas nationwide. Please check once again for any structures that could be at risk of being blown away to prevent accidents.
