Lotte World Aquarium, Special Spring Exhibition Featuring New Frogs

Lotte World Aquarium has launched a variety of frog exhibits and educational programs to celebrate the spring season. Starting from the 5th, the aquarium will showcase new amphibians such as the “Milky Frog,” “Pixie Frog,” and “Tomato Frog” in honor of the traditional Korean seasonal event, Gyeongchip.

The “Milky Frog” is known as the “Milky-Colored Frog” due to its ability to secrete white mucus when threatened. It can easily climb trees or walls using its rounded toe tips. As an adult, it boasts the largest size in tropical rainforests and has a characteristic voracious appetite, consuming a variety of foods. Additionally, the “Tomato Frog,” which resembles a red tomato, is also on display, allowing visitors to encounter frogs of various sizes and colors.

The aquarium has prepared an interactive educational program to help visitors naturally understand the ecology of amphibians, which have been selected as the creature of the month for March. The stamp activity “Frog’s Growth Process” offers visitors the opportunity to learn about the various stages of a frog’s development.

Moreover, on March 29th, a talk concert titled “The Secrets of Amphibians” will be held at the sea lion viewing area. This concert aims to enhance understanding of amphibians by providing fun and simple explanations about the life cycle and habitat of frogs, while also raising awareness of the importance of ecological conservation.

A representative from Lotte World Aquarium stated, “We are evolving beyond simple marine life exhibits to create a sustainable marine culture through ‘ECOARIUM.’ We plan to continuously operate a variety of educational content and programs so that children and teenagers can naturally develop an interest in the marine ecosystem.”
