“[Financial News] Lotte World Adventure is ending the operation of the rides ‘Bungee Drop’ and ‘Rotating Swing,’ which it has run for over 20 years.

On the 13th, Lotte World Adventure announced that the operation of the Bungee Drop and Rotating Swing would end on the 2nd of next month.

Lotte World Adventure first introduced the Bungee Drop in July 2000. With an investment of 3.5 billion won at the time, the Bungee Drop gained popularity with a mechanism that propelled the ride to a height of 32 meters at a top speed of 72 km/h and repeated this ascent and descent three times.

The Bungee Drop operated an average of 118 times a day, with a cumulative operating count of about 1,034,000 times and a cumulative distance of approximately 100,000 km.

Initially, the Bungee Drop was located indoors in the Adventure section but was relocated to the outdoor Magic Island space and reopened in May 2006.

An average of 860,000 people rode the Bungee Drop annually, totaling approximately 20.64 million riders over 24 years.

The Rotating Swing, opened in Magic Island in September 2002, is a ride featuring 32 leaf-shaped chairs attached to a 12-meter mushroom tree, rotating rapidly at 50 km/h. It operates for 2 minutes and 20 seconds per ride, covering about 1.9 km each time. The ride operated an average of 99 times a day, accumulating approximately 795,000 operations over 22 years.

An average of 990,000 people enjoyed the Rotating Swing annually, amounting to a total of 21.78 million riders over 22 years.

On the same day, the family ride ‘Mucking’s Merry-go-round’ will also cease operation.

Meanwhile, Lotte World Adventure will host a commemorative photo event called ‘Goodbye Magic Attraction’ from today until the 2nd of next month.
