Microsoft co-founder and Gates Foundation chair Bill Gates is set to appear on the popular Korean variety program “You Quiz on the Block” (You Quiz) on tvN. According to tvN, Gates’ episode is scheduled to air in August. Gates, renowned as one of the most influential figures globally, is known for his wealth and philanthropy. Through the Gates Foundation, he is dedicated to addressing global issues such as health, education, climate change, and poverty eradication. Recently, Gates made headlines by announcing his plan to donate 99% of his personal wealth, combined with the Gates Foundation’s funds, totaling approximately $200 billion (about 280 trillion won) back to society by 2045.
CJ ENM’s Nam Seung-yong, who facilitated Gates’ appearance on “You Quiz,” explained that the show’s intent is to respect all life values and convey human dignity and mutual understanding through diverse personal stories. This aligns with the Gates Foundation’s belief that “Every life has equal value.” Nam expressed it was an honor to welcome Gates, a figure connecting and changing the world through technology and philanthropy, to the show. Gates, scheduled to visit Korea around the 21st, marks his first visit since 2022.
