50,000 Performance Tickets and 1.6 Million Exhibition Tickets

The Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism will distribute a total of 2.1 million performance and exhibition discount tickets starting from the 8th. Provided by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism,
‘The government will distribute a total of 2.1 million discount tickets for performances and exhibitions to promote cultural consumption. This follows the distribution of 4.5 million movie ticket discount coupons last month and 700,000 sports vouchers for seniors this month, marking the third cultural initiative to boost domestic consumption.’
‘The Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, together with the Arts Management Support Center and the Korean Culture and Arts Committee, announced on the 7th that they will distribute a total of 2.1 million discount tickets for performances and exhibitions starting from the 8th to expand the public’s cultural access and promote cultural arts consumption. This discount ticket event is a project implemented with a supplementary budget of 10 billion won for economic recovery.’
‘According to the ministry, a total of 2.1 million discount tickets will be issued, including 500,000 performance tickets and 1.6 million exhibition tickets. The tickets can be obtained on a first-come-first-served basis, limited to two tickets per person, from five online booking sites: NOL Interpark, Melon Ticket, Timeticket, Ticketlink, and Yes24.’
‘Applications will be accepted online from 10 a.m. on the 8th until the 19th of the next month, about six weeks. Issuance will end once the available amount is exhausted. Call line assistance will be provided for the elderly and disabled who are less familiar with using online platforms.’
‘Each performance discount ticket is valued at 10,000 won, and each exhibition discount ticket at 3,000 won. A single discount ticket can be applied per payment. The discount is applicable when the total payment for a performance is at least 15,000 won and for an exhibition, at least 5,000 won. The discount tickets must be used by September 19 and can be applied only to performances and exhibitions available before November 30. Eligible performances include plays, musicals, classical music, traditional Korean music, dance, and interdisciplinary arts, excluding pop music and dance. Exhibitions eligible for discounts include visual arts exhibitions, art fairs, and biennales, but not industrial expos.’
‘Additionally, special discount tickets that can only be used for performances and exhibitions outside the metropolitan region will be issued to further promote cultural participation in those areas. Residents can receive two additional discount tickets on the ‘Timeticket’ online platform for events outside Seoul, Gyeonggi, and Incheon. Other online platforms will begin issuing special discount tickets once their systems are set up.’
