[JoyNews24 Reporter Lee Mi-young] Son Suk-hee returns with ‘Questions’.
On the 21st, MBC announced, “The talk program ‘Son Suk-hee’s Questions’ is coming back after six months. It is scheduled for ten episodes starting with the Lunar New Year special on January 29.”
The new 2025 season of ‘Questions’ still reflects the concerns of Korean society like last summer’s show, but with a slightly different focus. The production team has chosen ‘Life continues’ as the theme for this season. The main idea is how to safeguard citizens’ lives from being disrupted amid huge events like martial law and the arrest of the current president in Korean society.
In particular, the first episode of ‘Questions’ in 2025 will focus on the rapidly changing political situation following the failed martial law, featuring Daegu Mayor Hong Joon-pyo and writer Yoo Si-min. They will engage in a live debate on Lunar New Year’s Day, January 29, at 8:20 PM for 100 minutes. This marks their first debate together since the ‘100 Minutes Debate 1000th Episode Special’ in 2023. As parties are sharply divided over martial law and treason, an intense debate over public opinion is expected during the New Year holiday.
MBC has decided to air the debate live to maintain its timeliness and avoid disagreements over editing.
After the Lunar New Year holiday, starting in February, the show will return to viewers every Tuesday at 9 PM. This season, prominent figures from fields such as politics, media, and culture are expected to meet with host Son Suk-hee.
The ‘Questions’ episodes broadcasted last July and August were a talk show designed to explore the concerns in different sectors of society through interviews. Notable figures like CEO Baek Jong-won, writer Yoo Si-min, writer Hwang Sok-young, actor Choi Min-sik, and actress Youn Yuh-jung shared honest stories. During its broadcast, it captured great interest, ranking number one in MBC channel viewership and achieving a peak household viewership rating of 5.9% in the metropolitan area.
MBC will air a recap of last year’s ‘Questions’, titled ‘Son Suk-hee’s Questions Replay’, at 8:40 AM on January 28, the first day of the Lunar New Year holiday and a day before the main broadcast.
