“Seoh Hee-won, who passed away from pneumonia, last posted on SNS: ‘Koo Jun-yeop is so cool’. Heartbreaking.”

(Seoul=News1) Reporter Kim Song-yi: The news of the death of Taiwanese top star Xu Xiyuan (48, Seo Hee-won), who is the wife of Clone’s Koo Jun-yup (55), has been reported, and her last social media post expressing affectionate love for her husband has added to the sorrow.

On the 3rd, Taiwanese media, including the Central News Agency (CNA), reported that Xu Xiyuan died from the flu accompanied by pneumonia during a family trip in Japan.

Xu Xiyuan’s sister and entertainer Xu Xidi (46, Seo Hee-je) stated through their agency on the same day, “My sister Xu Xiyuan sadly left us due to the flu and pneumonia.” She also conveyed a message saying, “I am thankful that we could accompany and take care of each other as sisters in this life. I will always be grateful and miss her. I hope her journey is joyful. I love you.”

Following this tragic news, a wave of condolences from netizens from both countries has flooded the social media accounts of the deceased and Koo Jun-yup.

Particularly, Xu Xiyuan’s last post, made on December 21 of last year, expressed deep affection for her husband by including a video of Koo Jun-yup performing as DJ KOO at the KBS ‘Gayo Daechukje.’ Koo Jun-yup appeared on stage with junior idol groups, performing Clone’s hit song ‘Choryeon.’ Xu Xiyuan wrote, “Clone forever. DJ KOO is truly amazing,” showing her deep affection for her husband.

Meanwhile, Xu Xiyuan became known across Asia through her role as ‘Shan Cai,’ the female lead in the Taiwanese version of ‘Meteor Garden.’ She met Koo Jun-yup in 1998 and they dated for a year. Afterward, more than 20 years later, Koo Jun-yup contacted Xu Xiyuan, who had divorced her previous husband, and in 2022, they became a married couple. Their love story, crossing national borders and time, became a significant topic of discussion.

In 2022, Koo Jun-yup announced on social media, “I am getting married,” revealing that he intended to continue the unfinished love from 20 years ago with the woman he once loved. He said, “After hearing the news of her divorce, I tried contacting the phone number from 20 years ago, and fortunately, it was the same number, so we were able to reconnect. Considering the already passed time, we decided not to waste any more time, so I proposed marriage, and she accepted. We decided to live together with only registering our marriage.”
