Kim Ha-young lost her job just a month after getting married… ‘Surprise’ ends, “I feel like I’m going crazy.”

[OSEN=Jang Woo-young] Actress Kim Ha-young shared her thoughts about the hiatus of ‘Mystery TV Surprise’.

On the 16th, Kim Ha-young expressed on her social media account, “On the first day of my honeymoon in Bali, I received unexpected news, and a trip that should have been filled with happiness could not be so.”

She continued, “I was so upset being away from home; I wonder how my family at the filming site must be feeling during my absence. My beloved crew members who have grown too old. I wanted to be there till the end, but while countless thoughts cluttered my mind, my honeymoon became a cycle of laughing and crying. With not many episodes left until the conclusion and having a long honeymoon overlapping with holidays, I only have two episodes left to shoot, and I felt like I was going insane from the anxiety.”

She added, “When I returned to the filming set, no one said anything. It didn’t feel like the place I had been coming to for 22 years. Tomorrow is finally the last day of shooting. I always knew this day would come, but I guess I didn’t want to accept it.”

Meanwhile, ‘Mystery TV Surprise’ is set to pause its 23-year run after the 1185th episode airs on October 26, with plans to return with a new look early next year.

Full Statement from Kim Ha-young

On the first day of my honeymoon in Bali, I received sudden news, and a trip that should have been filled with happiness could not be so.

Parting from the ‘Surprise’ family, who are like family to me for 22 years, really upset me while being away. I wonder how the crew at the filming site must be feeling during my absence. My beloved crew members have grown too old. I wanted to be there till the end. A myriad of thoughts cluttered my mind, turning my honeymoon into a cycle of laughing and crying. With not many episodes left until the conclusion and a long honeymoon overlapping with holidays, I only have two episodes left to shoot, and I felt like I was going insane from the anxiety.

When I returned to the filming set, no one said anything. It didn’t feel like the ‘Surprise’ set I had been coming to for 22 years. Probably felt the same as my heart. Whether it’s been 22 years or just a year together, they are all my beloved ‘Surprise’ family.

Tomorrow is finally the last day of shooting. I always knew this day would come, but I guess I didn’t want to accept it.

I hope everyone can smile through the shoot. We’ll come back next year, you know?

Let’s meet tomorrow, and see each other again.
