“14 Million Subscriber YouTuber” Hamzy Makes Sudden Major Announcement: “Thank You for Everything So Far”

[Sports Chosun Reporter Jeong An-ji] Hamzy, a YouTuber with 14 million subscribers, has decided to take a break from YouTube to plan for having a child.

On the 4th, Hamzy uploaded a video on her channel ‘[Hamzy] Hamzy’ titled “Major Announcement! Thank you for all this time.” Hamzy, who has 14 million subscribers, mentioned, “This isn’t a mukbang video, so you might be surprised. I have something to share, so I decided to upload this video. It’s already been eight years since I started YouTube.”

She continued, “I started in my late 20s, and I’m already in my mid-30s. I’ve been with my boyfriend, who helped me start and grow this channel, for ten years now. We’ve both gotten older, and if we don’t make a decision now, another year or two might just pass by with us getting older. So, I’ve decided to temporarily pause the mukbang channel to plan for having a child after much consideration.”

Hamzy also mentioned, “I won’t stop uploading videos entirely. I’ve already shot some short videos, and I might occasionally upload long-form videos as a sort of survival check-in.”

Reflecting on her journey, she added, “I’ve cooked and eaten so much in the kitchen, and there have been times when we argued while shooting, creating many memories. It’s not easy to suddenly take a break, but with this big resolution in the new year, I’m planning to take a full rest, eat healthily, quit alcohol, visit the hospital, and plan for a child, aiming to welcome a little Hamzy by 2026,” expressing her determination with excitement.

Hamzy concluded, “While the mukbang channel will be on a break for a while, I’ll continue to upload regularly on the vlog channel that shares my everyday life. For those curious, please visit the vlog channel. I will greet you again in 2026 with good news,” announcing a temporary farewell.
