**SK Telecom Committed to Supporting MVNO Users Equally**
**Free SIM Replacement Available… Limited Uptake**

[Seoul=Newsis] Reporter Hong Hyo-sik – On the first day of offering free SIM (USIM) replacements due to a customer data leak, SK Telecom saw a decrease of 25,403 subscribers on April 28. Of these, 20,399 moved to KT and 13,733 switched to LG Uplus, totaling 34,132 customers lost. However, 8,729 subscribers moved from KT and LG Uplus to SK Telecom. [Seoul=Newsis] Reporter Shim Ji-hye – In response to a hacking incident that led to the leakage of some SIM information, SK Telecom is extending SIM protection services and replacements to MVNO users. One in five MVNO users on SK Telecom’s network has subscribed to the SIM protection service.

As of 3 PM on the 29th, SK Telecom reported that 370,000 MVNO users on its network have subscribed to the SIM protection service, accounting for 20% of the 1.87 million total users.

On the same day, 50,000 people subscribed to the service, and 30,000 SIM replacements were made. Since MVNOs have few official dealerships, users need to either receive their SIM via courier or purchase it through distribution channels like convenience stores. They must then call the customer center to complete the replacement procedure.

SK Telecom has promised to take responsibility for damages to subscribers on their network to the same extent as for their own customers. As such, if secondary damage occurs despite subscribing to the SIM protection service, SK Telecom will fully compensate. The cost of SIM replacement will also be waived by SK Telecom.
