Hyundai has announced the pricing for its large electric SUV, the Ioniq 9, and has begun accepting pre-orders starting from the 3rd of the month. As the flagship model of the Ioniq brand, the Ioniq 9 maximizes interior space with the largest wheelbase in its class, based on the E-GMP platform. All models are equipped with a 110.3kWh battery, achieving a single-charge driving range of over 500 km.
The pricing for the Ioniq 9 starts at 67,150,000 KRW for the 7-seater Exclusive model, 73,150,000 KRW for the Prestige model, and 77,920,000 KRW for the Calligraphy model. The 6-seater versions are priced at 69,030,000 KRW for the Exclusive model, 74,640,000 KRW for the Prestige model, and 79,410,000 KRW for the Calligraphy model, with these prices reflecting tax incentives. With additional electric vehicle purchase subsidies, the actual purchase price is expected to be lower, making the Ioniq 9 available for the mid-60 million KRW range for the basic 7-seater trim.
The Ioniq 9 features an aerodynamic design and spacious interior. Hyundai optimized airflow and provided generous space with an aerodynamic silhouette and introduced the world’s first dual motion active air flaps on the front bumper to minimize air resistance. The vehicle achieved an impressive drag coefficient of 0.259, the best in its class.
In terms of design, the Ioniq 9 incorporates the Parametric Pixel design element, which is central to the Ioniq brand. A smoothly curved roofline ensures ample headroom for passengers from front to back seats. The rear of the Ioniq 9 features a unique Parametric Pixel lamp design, and hidden antennas give it a clean look. The interior boasts a spacious design with a long wheelbase and flat floor extending to the third row.
The Ioniq 9 measures 5060mm in length, 3130mm in wheelbase, 1980mm in width, and 1790mm in height, providing substantial space with class-leading headroom and legroom for the second and third rows. Hyundai offers a total of four seating configurations, including three 6-seater options and one 7-seater option.
The first row features relaxation seats with leg rests and an ergo motion seat for the driver, while the second row for the 6-seater includes premium relaxation seats, swivel seats, and dynamic bodycare seats, and the 7-seater has 6:4 split-folding seats. The Universal Island 2.0 console can move up to 190mm to the rear, and the multi-console, accessible from both front and rear, enhances convenience for all passengers.
The vehicle’s panoramic curved display consists of a 12.3-inch digital cluster and an infotainment system, enhancing driver visibility. Exterior color options include seven glossy colors and three matte colors, while the interior offers five color schemes.
The Ioniq 9 achieves a single-charge driving range of 532 km in the 2WD model with 19-inch wheels, with all models exceeding a 500 km range. The vehicle also supports a 400/800V fast-charging system, allowing charging from 10% to 80% in just 24 minutes with a 350 kW charger.
Advanced driver assistance systems are integrated for safety, including forward collision avoidance, blind-spot collision avoidance, lane keeping assist, intelligent speed limit assist, driver attention warning, and more. Enhanced safety and convenience features include rear cross-traffic collision avoidance, parking distance warning, safe exit assist, and rear occupant alert.
Hyundai plans to open a Bluelink Store, enabling customers to add digital features post-purchase, such as remote smart parking assistance, dynamic lighting patterns, display themes, and virtual gear shift for a simulated driving feel.
The Ioniq 9 supports over-the-air software updates and integrates a next-generation infotainment system, ccNC, for easy access to EV-related information. It also features Hyundai AI Assistant, which uses natural language processing to provide information on destinations, vehicle use, and general knowledge, facilitating interactive communication between the car and the customer.
Additional features include a 100W USB-C charging port, V2L (Vehicle to Load) capability, a three-part camera cleaning system, compact digital side mirrors, and a digital center mirror for enhanced convenience.
