Hanwha collaborates with global unmanned vehicle company Milrem… “Developing the world’s best unmanned vehicles”

Hanwha Aerospace is collaborating with Europe’s largest unmanned ground vehicle (UGV) company, Milrem Robotics, to jointly develop technology. Using this partnership as a foundation, they plan to fully enter the global unmanned vehicle market.

On the 18th, at the defense exhibition “IDEX 2025” held in Abu Dhabi, UAE, Hanwha Aerospace announced on the 19th that they signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Milrem Robotics to expand their strategic partnership for the joint development of the latest tracked unmanned vehicle, the “T-RCV,” and to target the global market.

Milrem Robotics, an Estonian company, leads the standardization of global UGVs by supplying tracked UGVs to a total of 16 countries, including eight NATO members, such as the United States, the United Kingdom, and France, according to Hanwha.

Hanwha Aerospace is accelerating its efforts to capture the unmanned vehicle market. The wheeled UGV “Arion-SMET” has completed overseas comparative testing (FCT) with the U.S. military, and the next-generation UGV “Grunt” has been independently developed. This year, the company is anticipating selection as a supplier for the Korean Army’s multipurpose unmanned vehicle procurement project.

Hanwha Aerospace stated, “Based on cooperation between the two companies, we will present new alternatives to address the rapidly changing modern combat environment.” Milrem Robotics added, “Leveraging the innovative technologies and global market experience of both companies, we will embark on developing cutting-edge unmanned solutions.”
