Government to introduce ‘K-Culture’ training visa… “Attracting long-term foreign residents”

, The Ministry of Economy and Finance announced today at the Economic-related Ministers Meeting a joint plan of related ministries on ‘Measures to activate inbound tourism by foreigners for increased tourism revenue’.,

, The government plans to pilot operation of the ‘K-Culture Training Visa’ this year, targeting foreigners who wish to receive training in entertainment companies or in fields such as K-pop, choreography, and modeling.,

, It is also considering introducing the ‘Region-specific Digital Nomad Visa’ to allow overseas remote workers to enjoy local tourism while working in Korea.,

, It also plans to increase visa screening personnel, visa application centers, and expand direct flight routes between local airports and overseas cities to reduce the visa issuance period for inbound tourists from Southeast Asian countries, enabling more tourists to visit Korea.,

, For cruise tourists, it will shorten the immigration process time and flexibly extend operating hours of passenger terminals.,

, In order to enhance tourism activities after entry, it plans to increase experiential programs such as chicken and beer (chimaek), instant photo shooting, and personal color diagnosis under the ‘K-lifestyle’ experience program. It also plans to create a new type of development zone called ‘Integrated Facility Zone’ where accommodation, leisure, and recreation facilities can be installed in one area of a tourist complex.,
