Former President Yoon Suk-yeol is reportedly planning to decline the third summons by the police related to allegations of obstructing special public duties. His legal team intends to submit a statement to the police on the 17th, indicating that an in-person interview at a third-party location or a written investigation would be acceptable alternatives. Despite these concessions, if Yoon does not comply, the special investigation team may consider measures such as emergency arrest or applying for a detention warrant. This follows previous refusals to respond to summonses issued earlier, with Yoon’s team arguing that the demand for his attendance is unjustified and claiming that the investigation authority’s actions, including the issuance of a warrant by the court, are unlawful.
Yoon plans not to comply with the third police summons… a compromise proposal such as a written investigation has also been suggested.
