Gyeonggi Province to Provide 1 Million KRW in Cash to Young Married Couples

Gyeonggi Province is providing 1 million won in cash to young newlywed couples.

Gyeonggi Province announced on the 17th that it is promoting the ‘Gyeonggi Youth Marriage Support Project’ to relieve the economic burden and support the stability of young newlywed couples. The project will select a total of 2,650 couples to receive 1 million won in cash.

The Gyeonggi Youth Marriage Support Project was proposed by a youth participation organization and was ultimately selected as a resident participatory budget project after review by the Youth Policy Coordination Committee.

Gyeonggi Province will be recruiting applicants from August 1 to 29 through Gyeonggi Civil Service 24 (gg24.gg.go.kr).

The eligibility criteria include that both spouses must be registered residents of Gyeonggi Province as of the application date, be born between January 1, 1985, and December 31, 2006, have completed their marriage registration after January 1, 2025, and have a combined annual income of less than 80 million won in 2024.

Recipients will be selected based on their period of residence in Gyeonggi Province over the past five years and their combined income level from the previous year.

Gyeonggi Province will distribute the 1 million won marriage support grant to the selected couples in November.
