The Seoul police are directly investigating 171 posts related to the riots at the Constitutional Court and the Western District Court.

The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency stated that they are currently investigating 20 posts on the online community ‘DC Inside’ that suggest plans for a riot at the Constitutional Court.

A senior official from the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency said during a regular press briefing held at the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency in Jongno-gu, Seoul, on the morning of the 10th, “We have transferred the reported case from the Yeongdeungpo Police Station on the 7th to the cyber investigation team of the Seoul branch.” They added, “We are conducting a pre-investigation on 20 cases and have requested the preservation of the data of those posts.”

The police, who are also investigating the indications of premeditated disturbances at the Seoul Western District Court, stated, “We have identified 151 posts,” and added, “The case has been assigned to the Criminal Mobilization Unit as per the procedure.”

The police further mentioned, “We will sternly investigate 74 threatening posts and 5 cases of fake news regarding the Seoul Western District Court,” adding, “Among the four individuals who wrote the threatening posts, one has been sent without detention on charges of intimidation.”
